Advertising
Posted October 6th, 2008 by AnthonyIf you are looking to become an SEO website owner building up a sizeable income from advertising, you should consider three main options; Google Adsense, Affiliate Ads and Amazon Affiliates. Having just one of these methods a few times on a page can be helpful but the best method of collecting monies from online advertising is to create a few different programs to choose from on your website.
Google Adsense is an advertising program created by Google that sends you a cheque at the end of each month with your earnings. You can customise your adverts to an extent and the adverts displayed will depend on your website content. You can also apply for Google Adsense through Blogger for your blog. Simply go to customize > layout > add a gadget. Then select Adsense from the options displayed. You will be taken through the set up process from there. If you have a blog and want to apply for Adsense your best bet at the moment is to create an Adsense account via Blogger as these applications will be quickly approved. Otherwise you are looking at a few weeks for approval due to a backlog that Google is currently suffering.
Amazon Affiliates requires you to create an account specifically with Amazon where you will then advertise only Amazon products. Because Amazon offers such a large range of products you can customise your adverts more specifically. You can choose the product type that will be advertised and advert type including content based adverts (like Google Adsense) or keyword based adverts where you type in the keywords you want the adverts to relate to. Amazon will provide you with up to 10% of all sales completed through these banners and you get a variety of different payment methods that include the traditional cheque method and direct debit payments.
General Affiliate Advertising
Most advertising affiliates will require you to have high website traffic in order to advertise their participating companies. This is more likely to become an option once you have become a well established business. You can get some free services for lower level companies and these are usually again based on all fully completed sales including a period of “grace” that allows for possible returns and refunds that would discount your earnings.
